We are selling our Park Plaza weeks since I’m 66 now and find snowboarding just something I can’t do anymore safely.
You can buy our week(s) and spend years skiing/snowboarding the 3 Olympic-class resorts in Park City – all are top 10 ski resorts in North America. The Park Plaza is a small timeshare resort that is a gem located in the heart of Park City.
Two free bus stops are located right across the street – so is the #1 steak house in Park City – the Grub Steak.

The 2002 Winter Olympics was held in Park City, UT – this is world class skiing/snowboarding.  There are three top rated ski resorts within a 5 mile radius of the Park Plaza, a top of the line resort in the middle of Park City.

What makes Park City so special is that the Salt Lake City International Airport is just 25 minutes away!  Catch an early flight and be on the slopes by noon the same day.

Skiing Magazine rates the following resorts:

  • Deer Valley – #1 for 4 years in a row
  • Park City Mountain Resort – #4 3 years in a row
  • The Canyons – #10

Deer Valley Resort

There is no better ski resort in North America!  Deer Valley is 2 miles away from the Park Plaza Resort and the free van will whisk you to and from Deer Valley.  Deer Valley is only for skiers – no snowboarders are allowed on the slopes.

There are 2,026 skiable acres with 100 runs.

There are four mountains to ski, Bald Mountain, Flagstaff Mountain, Bald Eagle, and Lady Morgan.  The highest mountain is 9,400′ with a 3,000′ vertical drop.

Service to the mountains is outstanding, 1 high-speed 4-passenger gondola, 11 high-speed quad chairlifts, 5 triple chairlifts and 2 double chairlifts.

There are 6 bowls and 560 acres of snowmaking.  Uphill capacity is 46,500 skiers/hr.

Deer Valley is on the free Park City bus route right across the street or take the free van.

 

Park City Mountain Resort

The Park City Mountain Resort is the #4 ski/snowboard resort in North America and has been in the top 5 resorts for the past 4 years!

The base of PC Mountain Resort is 6,900′ with the highest lift at 10,000′.  There are 3,300 skiable acres which cover 7 mountains and 9 bowls.

There are 4 high-speed 6-passenger chairs, 3 high-speed quads, 5 triples, and 3 doubles with total uphill capacity of 31,400 guests per hour.

Average annual snowfall is 360″.

 

The Canyons Resort (Now Canyons Village at Park City)

Although The Canyons is #10 of all ski resorts we like it the best – we are snowboarders and The Canyons was built from scratch to cater to snowboarders.

The Canyons is just 5 miles away from the Park Plaza and you can get there by the free Park City bus which stops right across the street.

The Canyons base is 6,800′ with the highest chair lift at 9,900′.  Total vertical rise is 3,190′ with 8 mountains being serviced with 18 lifts including one gondola.

There are 167 trails with 3,700 skiable acres and an average snowfall of 355″.  There are 5 bowls, 2 terrain parks, and 6 halfpipes – like I said this resort was built for snowboarding.

The Park Plaza is a timeshare condo and you buy only the weeks you need. We bought a 2-bedroom Prime ski week and a Mini-Suite Prime ski week for our family usage.

All you do is call the Park Plaza 12 months before the ski week you want to reserve and lock in that week (subject to availability of course).

OR

You can exchange the ski week in 2 timeshare exchange companies and stay at thousands of other timeshares around the world. 1) Interval International (II) and 2) Resort Condominium International (RCI) both in their weeks and points programs.

The folks at the Park Plaza will help you with your decision.

Owning a timeshare makes you an owner at the Park Plaza or you are treated as an owner in the thousands of exchange resorts.

For the past 10 years we have locked in Christmas Week, New Year’s Week, Sundance Week, and Presidents Week and had family vacations that all of us remember and treasure.

Park Plaza has a van that will take you anywhere in Park City for free.

 

2 Bedroom sleeps 8/6 privately – Maintenance Fee is $953/year

2-bedroom week:

Each year you get one week of usage at the Park Plaza on any week you want weeks 1 – 52. This ownership is called Prime ownership at the Park Plaza.

Each year you can call in and lock in any week you want – provided there is availability for that week. For 10 years we have called in exactly 12 months to the day before we wanted the week to start and have spent every Christmas, New Years, Sundance, or President week at the Park Plaza.

You can exchange your week for about 3,000 other timeshare resorts by joining II or RCI. We have done this too – deposited our week and spent the holidays in Maui or in Whistler or in Orlando or in Lake Tahoe – it has worked out great for us.

The 2-bedroom sleeps 6 adults and 2 kids for a total of 8. It has 3 bathrooms so there is never any waiting for a bathroom.

The kitchen is a full size one with granite counter tops and full sized appliances.

Mini-suite week:

4 people can easily stay in the Mini-suite. It has a full kitchen and fireplace and a king bed with a queen sofa-bed. We have brought many guests and we normally stay in the 2-bedroom and the guests in the Mini or the other way around – it is very large.

It has only one bathroom but there is plenty of space for 4 people to play cards, watch TV, or just sleep.

This week can be exchanged in II and/or RCI and it exchanges as if it were a 1-bedroom. We have exchanged it for a 2-bedroom many times over the years and stayed at other resorts in off season or last minute exchanges.

 

Great restaurants, fashionable shops, world-class skiing, and an active nightlife make Park City one of Utah’s most popular vacation destinations. You’re sure to have an unforgettable time at Park Plaza.  Skiing is just a mile away. When you’re ready to call it a day, take a dip in the fully enclosed swimming pool, unwind in the sauna, or soak in the Jacuzzi. The resort also offers complimentary van service to any location within Park City.


Salt Lake International Airport is just 25 minutes away.

  • The master bedroom has a king bed and large vanity area
  • Second bedroom has a queen bed and vanity area

For Sale:

We are asking $5,000 for the 2-bedroom week and it includes a reservation for Christmas 2013 (Check in on Dec 21, 2013 and checking out on Dec 28, 2013)

Maintenance fees are paid for 2013 and you will have 2 weeks of usage in 2014!

We pay the closing costs ($300) and closing and escrow will be handled through Timeshare Transfer – we have used them in the past for buying and selling our timeshares and they do a great job. As soon as you send the money to Timeshare Transfer you will get the 2012 Christmas reservation. This is worth about $2,000.

The extra week in 2014 is worth about $2,000 too.

This is a fantastic deal to someone who wants to ski/snowboard Park City.

 

We are asking $2,500 for the Mini-Suite and that includes  a reservation for President’s Week 2015 (Check in on Feb 14 – 21, 2015)

Maintenance fees are paid for 2014 and you will have 3 weeks of usage in 2015!

We pay the closing costs ($300) and closing and escrow will be handled through Timeshare Transfer – we have used them in the past for buying and selling our timeshares and they do a great job. 

The 3 extra weeks in 2015 is worth about $1,500 each.
